Euro area inflation estimated at 5.5% in June

19/07/23 (Agence Europe) – Annual inflation in the euro area stood at 5.5% in June, down from 6.1% in May, according to figures published by the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat) on Wednesday 19 July. In the EU, it stood at 6.4% last month, down from 7.1% in May. The lowest rates were observed in Luxembourg (1.0%), Belgium and Spain (both 1.6%), while the highest rates were recorded in Hungary (19.9%), Slovakia (11.3%) and the Czech Republic (11.2%).
