Despite progress towards EU membership, MEPs call on Tirana to continue efforts on rule of law and judicial system

On Wednesday 12 July, the plenary session of the European Parliament adopted the 2022 report on Albania (536 votes in favour, 54 against and 32 abstentions). While the twenty-page document welcomes Tirana’s “resolute” commitment to EU membership, it also calls for intensified reforms to strengthen the functioning of the rule of law.
