New head of EULEX Kosovo mission is Giovanni Pietro Barbano

13/06/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 13 June, the ambassadors of the Member States to the EU, who were meeting within the Political and Security Committee, appointed Giovanni Pietro Barbano as Head of Mission for the EU Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX Kosovo). Mr Barbano is a Major General in the Italian Carabinieri and the current Director of the Centre of Excellence for Stability Police Units in Vicenza and will replace Lars-Gunnar Wigemark from 26 June 2023.
