Commission and High Representative unveil their proposal for horizontal sanctions regime against violations

On Monday 19 October, the European Commission and the High Representative presented their joint proposal for an EU Council Regulation concerning the implementation of restrictive measures in response to serious violations of human rights and breaches of human rights around the world.

In her State of the Union address, the President of the Commission announced a proposal of this kind(see EUROPE B12561A9).
