MEPs claim draft budget 2021-2027 presented by Charles Michel insufficient

The proposal made by the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, is "very far from what is needed to adequately finance the old and new programmes of the European Union", said the President of the European Parliament, David Sassoli (see EUROPE B12426A1) on Monday 17 February. 

The European Parliament President notes that the figures presented in this 'negotiating box' do not differ significantly from the proposal made in December 2019 by the Finnish Presidency of the EU Council.
