European Parliament approves provisional agreement on Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation

23/04/2024 (Agence Europe) – In Strasbourg on Tuesday, 23 April, the European Parliament adopted (455 votes in favour, 99 against, and 54 abstentions) the interinstitutional agreement on the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) (see EUROPE B13307A4), which aims to introduce environmental sustainability standards for most products sold in the EU. The European Commission will define specific product requirements through secondary legislation.
