PES supports nomination of Morgan Tsvangirai

Brussels, 29/08/2002 (Agence Europe) - The Socialist Group of the European Parliament has shown strong support for the nomination of Morgan Tsvangirai, leader of the opposition in Zimbabwe, for the Sakharov Prize. The Spanish President of the Group, Enrique Baron, British MEP Glenys Kinnock, who is also Vice-President of the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly, and Dutch MEP Max van den Berg affirmed that Mr Tsvangirai is very worthy of such an honour as he has faced constant oppression from...
