Peter Glotz announces proposal that the Commission President be elected by European Parliament

Berlin, 04/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - The German government's representative at the European Convention, Peter Glotz, announced in Berlin that he would be presenting the Convention this week with a proposal that the President of the European Commission be elected by the European Parliament. Glotz has the support of forty or so Convention Members for the proposal. He told the Frankfurter Setting that he wanted to avoid the President of the European Commission becoming a kind of super-secretary...
