Germany approves German financial contributions reducing social charges for maritime shipping companies

Brussels, 06/06/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday the Commission approved German financial contributions reducing social charges of German seafarers and seafarers from Member States of the European Union. The German aid scheme aims at safeguarding and developing European maritime employment, expertise and skills in line with the objectives and principles outlined in the 1997 Community guidelines on State aid to maritime transport.
