Investigation of price fixing for monochloroacetic acid

Brussels, 06/06/2002 (Agence Europe) - The Commission has launched a preliminary investigation into alleged price fixing in the manufacture of monochloroacetic acid (MCAA), used by the pharmaceutical industry in the manufacture of herbicides and additives for plastics. Without mentioning names, the European Commission said that "all stakeholders were cooperating with the European Commission and had appealed for leniency".
