Commission and UEFA announces agreement is "satisfactory" to all on commercial rights relating to Champions League

Brussels, 04/06/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) have reached an agreement concerning the sale of broadcasting and other media rights relating to the Champions League, thus bringing to an end a procedure that has lasted one year. The new rules will make the media rights on the Champions League accessible to providers of Internet content and UMTS operators as well as a larger number of television and radio channels.
