Bulgaria makes important breakthrough in negotiations - Other chapters closed

Brussels, 23/04/2002 (Agence Europe) - Bulgaria made a substantial leap forward in accession negotiations on Monday evening during deputy-level talks, closing three additional chapters: social policy and employment, Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) and institutions. Bulgaria, which is not expected to be part of the first wave of memberships, has now closed 17 of the 31 chapters.
