Brussels, 22/03/2002 (Agence Europe) - the European Commission has decided to invite Finland to amend its legislation governing damages caused to passengers involved in an accident where the driver was inebriated. The Commission considers that this exclusion of damages suffered by the passengers is contrary to the second Directive on car insurance, where exclusion is only allowed in certain cases, which do not include inebriation of the driver.
