Brussels, 19/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Union has welcomed the Geneva Verdict ruling that US safeguard measures against line pipe imports were illegal. The conclusions were confirmed last week by the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Appellate Body at the request of South Korea and which in effect confirms EU views on safeguard measures that the USA threatened to take on 6 March in an effort to protect its steel market from foreign competitors.
