Euratom/Kazakhstan controlled nuclear fusion research cooperation agreement

Brussels, 02/10/2001 (Agence Europe) - On 27 September, the EU Council of Ministers endorsed the Commission's signing of a Co-operation Agreement between the European Atomic Energy Community (EURATOM) and Kazakhstan in the domain of controlled nuclear fusion. The agreement aims to maintain and intensify co-operation in the areas covered by both sides' fusion programmes in order to improve scientific understanding and the technological possibilities of an energy fusion system.
