In its communication on the knowledge-based economy, the Commission notes good performances by four Member States, the contrasted position of two and that others are lagging behind - Objectives and recommendations

Brussels, 21/09/2000 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the Commission adopted its communication to the Council and Parliament (drawn up under the responsibility of Commissioner Liikanen) entitled "Innovation in an economy based on the knowledge society". Its services have for the first time set out a innovation "trend chart" to measure performances in the Union.
