EU support for territorial integrity

Brussels, 09/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - On 8 June, the Portuguese Presidency made the following statement, on behalf of the European Union, on Indonesia:

"The EU has taken note of the declaration made by the Papuan Congress on 3 June. It has repeatedly stressed its support for Indonesia's territorial integrity and for the efforts of the current Indonesian Government to solve problems such as Aceh and Irian Jaya through peaceful negotiation.
