European employers (UNICE) agree to negotiate European framework agreement on temporary work with trade unions

Brussels, 03/05/2000 (Agence Europe) - Employers hope to improve the labour market in Europe and consider that "temporary agency work is an integral part of well-functioning labour markets". "Employers are prepared to discuss how to avoid unfair discrimination of temporary agency workers", but call on trade unions to recognise that temporary work is "an essential contribution" to the labour market in Europe as this kind of work generates jobs.
