31/08/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 31 August, the European Union granted a €15 million top-up to its partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) for building climate resilience and strengthening food systems in Afghanistan. This twelve-month funding will support the development of climate-resilient livelihoods and home-grown school feeding in rural communities, while promoting sustainable natural resource management and private-sector engagement in agribusiness. “Through this integrated approach, we are not only addressing immediate food needs, but also helping communities withstand natural disasters and the growing long-term impacts of climate change”, welcomed Eric Beaume, Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to Afghanistan.
