European Commission authorises a Slovenian State aid scheme worth €59 million to promote battery energy storage systems

31/07/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 31 July, the European Commission authorised a Slovenian State aid scheme worth €59 million to promote battery energy storage systems, in line with the objectives of the Clean Industrial Deal. This measure will contribute to the transition towards a net-zero economy. The Slovenian scheme aims to support the installation of new storage capacity of at least 370 MWh and to increase the integration of renewable energy sources into the electricity system through the deployment of standalone battery energy storage systems. The aid granted will take the form of direct grants for the construction of these systems. (CG)
