Swedish Presidency of EU Council specifies deadlines for data availability and deployment of intelligent transport systems

On Friday 31 March, the EU Member States discussed the latest changes made by the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the EU to the text on the deployment of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) (see EUROPE B13051A38) in a working group on ‘Transport - intermodal issues and networks’. This text should make essential ITS mandatory throughout the EU and solve the problems related to the lack of interoperability and continuity of existing applications and services.
