European Commission issues €6 billion of Next Generation EU green bonds

29/03/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 28 March, the European Commission issued €6 billion of Next Generation EU green bonds in its fourth syndicated operation for 2023. The single-tranche transaction was executed through a top-up of the green bond maturing on 4 February 2048. The Commission intends to finance 30% of its Next Generation EU stimulus programme by issuing green bonds, making it the largest issuer of green bonds in the world.
