On Wednesday, 8 March, Member States’ permanent representatives (Coreper) rather favourably received proposals by the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the EU that were designed to bring the position held by Member States closer to those held by MEPs so as to quickly reach an interinstitutional agreement on the reform of the statute of European political parties and their foundations (see EUROPE B13135A25 and B13134A18).
