Reform of Schengen Borders Code, rapporteur takes a step towards reintroduction of internal return procedures for migrants between Member States

The technical meeting organised on 28 February between the European Parliament rapporteurs on the reform of the Schengen Borders Code has, according to different sources, allowed for the approximation of certain positions on elements considered crucial to the reform presented by the Commission at the end of 2021, such as the introduction of procedures for the internal return between Member States of irregular migrants intercepted during joint police patrols (see EUROPE B13127A7).
