French support of €2 billion for energy-consuming companies in context of war in Ukraine approved

On Wednesday 1 March, the European Commission authorised a €2 billion French guarantee scheme to support energy-consuming companies in the context of the war in Ukraine.

The scheme was approved under EU State aid rules based on Article 107(3)(b) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU), recognising that the EU economy is facing a serious disturbance.
