With stronger mandate European Medicines Agency will set up steering group to tackle shortage of critical medical devices

The strengthened mandate of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) came into full effect on 2 February. The last provisions of this mandate, Chapter IV of Regulation (EU) 2022/123, with the exception of Article 30, entered into force on 2 February.

At the same time, the Agency announced the upcoming establishment of a Medical Devices Shortages Steering Group (MDSSG).
