Commissioner for Human Rights reacts to liquidation of ‘Helsinki Group’ in Russia

26/01/2023 (Agence Europe) – The Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights reacted on Wednesday 25 January to the announcement of the dissolution of the Moscow ‘Helsinki Group’. This liquidation is again “based on allegations that lack credibility and is aimed at obstructing the legitimate work of human rights organisations”, said Dunja Mijatović, also warning of the judicial harassment suffered by remaining organisations, including the ‘Sakharov Center’.
