Good progress in EU in combatting early school leaving

Many Member States have made significant progress in tackling early school leaving, according to the progress report on making a European education area a reality by 2025, published by the European Commission on Friday 18 November (see EUROPE B12571A8).

By 2021, the EU average level of early school leavers had decreased from 12.6% in 2012 to 9.7% in 2021, with the target for 2025 set at 9.0%. The most remarkable progress has been recorded in countries such as Portugal (20.5% in 2012, 5.9%...
