17/11/2022 (Agence Europe) – The Court of Justice of the European Union has ruled that the Directive (2000/78/EC) introducing a general framework for equal treatment in employment and occupation, read in the light of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights (Article 21), precludes Italian legislation which sets the maximum age limit for taking part in the competition for the recruitment of police commissioners at 30 years, in a judgment delivered on Thursday 17 November (Case C-304/21).
