ECDC risk assessment and recommendations to address rise in diphtheria cases among migrants

06/10/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) has conducted a risk assessment of an increase in diphtheria cases among migrants in Europe. According to the ECDC, the risk is very low among the population residing in Europe: vaccination coverage against diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis is high and the probability of an individual residing in the European Union developing the disease is very low.
