Remaining resources of 2014-2020 cohesion funds could contribute to financing of REPowerEU

06/10/2022 (Agence Europe) – According to several sources contacted by EUROPE on Thursday 6 October, one of the avenues explored to financially reinforce the REPowerEU initiative (see EUROPE B13036A5) would be to mobilise the remaining resources of the 2014-2020 cohesion policy. The potential amounts could be as high as around €1 billion. How to use them and the timing of such an initiative still needs to be determined in consultation with the EU Council and the European Parliament....
