European Parliament calls for free elections and immediate end to gang crime

In an emergency resolution on human rights violations in Haiti, adopted on Thursday 6 October, the European Parliament strongly condemns the acts of violence and destruction perpetrated by some 200 gangs and deplores the looting of food and humanitarian supplies as well as attacks on humanitarian workers.
