27/09/2022 (Agence Europe) – The specialised website SpaceNews reported on Monday 26 September that the Director General of the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Administrator of the United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) had signed an agreement of cooperation relating to lunar activities. Although the content of the agreement has not been published, the joint statement covers human spaceflight activities such as the International Space Station, Gateway, and the European service module provided by ESA for the Orion capsule, and highlighted ongoing discussions on future collaboration on the Moon, according to NASA. DG Josef Aschbacher described it as “a valuable contribution to the preparations for CM22 (ESA’s ministerial meeting in November), as we move closer to our cooperation on and around the Moon”, in a tweet on 20 September.
