Stefan Löfven candidate for presidency of Party of European Socialists

21/09/2022 (Agence Europe) – The Party of European Socialists (PES) Electoral Committee approved, on Friday 16 September, the candidacy of former Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven to replace the Bulgarian Sergei Stanishev as PES President. The latter praised Mr Löfven’s work in organising the November 2017 Gothenburg Social Summit (see EUROPE B11907A1, B11906A2) which had proclaimed the European Pillar of social rights.
