Further decline in EU population in 2021

11/07/2022 (Agence Europe) – On the occasion of World Population Day on Monday 11 July, the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat) highlighted EU population data showing a further decline in 2021. After an initial decline in population growth in 2020 due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the EU population decreased again in 2021, from 447 million at the beginning of 2021 to 446.8 million at the beginning of 2022.
