EU mobilises €50 million for refugees in Turkey and their host communities

The mobilisation of €50 million in EU humanitarian aid for vulnerable refugees and their host communities in Turkey was announced by the European Commission on Tuesday 14 June.

Turkey currently hosts four million refugees, mainly Syrians (over 3.7 million).

The amount that has just been released is part of the €3 billion announced by the European Commission in June 2021 to support refugees in Turkey until 2024. It will fund specialised health care services, legal advice, psychosocial...
