In the second half of 2021, average electricity and gas prices for households in the European Union rose sharply compared to the same period in 2020, from €21.3 (per 100 kWh) to €23.7, and from €7 to €7.8 respectively, the latest data published byEurostat, the EU statistical office, showed on Friday 29 April.
As regards electricity prices, the figures show that they increased in all EU countries during this period, with the exception of Slovakia (-6%) and Hungary (-0.1%).
