Juan Fernando López Aguilar sees Leggeri’s resignation as turning point in accountability for all EU agencies
Brussels, 02/05/2022 (Agence Europe)
The Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties (LIBE), Juan Fernando López Aguilar (S&D, Spain), took note on Monday 2 May of the resignation of Frontex Director Fabrice Leggeri, who was implicated in a report by the European Anti-Fraud Office (see EUROPE B12942A1). He said that it “sets a new reference point on accountability that will not only affect Frontex as the largest EU agency, but also all other EU agencies and specialised offices”.
