Absorption rate of structural and cohesion funds 2014-2021 increases significantly

02/03/2022 (Agence Europe) – In a press release on 1 March the European Commission announced positive developments in the absorption rate of structural and investment funds for the period 2014-2020. In 2021 the member states declared €81 billion in cohesion policy expenditure. Total expenditure is now at €331 billion, or 63% of the total cohesion policy envelope (€552 billion). €39 billion has been allocated under REACT-EU.
