European Commission approves two new geographical indications from Lithuania and Spain

02/03/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on 1 March the addition of two names to the register of protected geographical indications (PGIs) and protected designations of origin (PDOs). The Lithuanian PGI ‘Nijolės Šakočienės šakotis’ is a bakery product in the shape of a large truncated cone with a hollow centre, with spiky ‘branches’ of different sizes.
