Number of asylum applications in November 2021 was highest since 2016

28/01/2022 (Agence Europe) – The number of asylum applications in the EU lodged in November 2021 was the highest since 2016, the European Agency for Asylum (EUAA) said on Friday 28 January, with 71,400 applications lodged in the EU+, up 9% on October and almost as many as at the peak in September 2021, when EU+ countries received the most applications since 2016.
