Revision of ‘LULUCF Regulation’, MEP Norbert Lins proposes 2030 target that is “realistic, ambitious and based on the most up-to-date figures”

The draft opinion by Norbert Lins (EPP, Germany) on the revision of EU regulation (2018/84) on Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry (LULUCF) suggests a carbon sink target for 2030 that is “realistic, ambitious, based on the most up-to-date figures and scientific analysis”(see EUROPE B12862A4, B12863A3).

According to the draft opinion on behalf of the European Parliament’s Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, this target should be “in line with sustainable active forest...
