On Thursday, 18 November, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) gave its blessing to the 17 emergency authorisations that 11 Member States had granted bee-killing neonicotinoid pesticides (clothianidin, imidacloprid, thiamethoxam, and thiacloprid) in 2020 and 2021 in order to protect sugar beets.
