MEPs once again said, at the European Parliament plenary session on Tuesday 6 July, that future guidelines for the application of the general regime of conditionality for the protection of the Union budget were unnecessary. They also asked the Commission to apply this regime now, as the relevant Regulation entered into force on 1 January 2021.
