Public consultation on new firearms rules

05/07/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 5 July, the European Commission launched a public consultation to prepare for the revision of EU rules on the import, export and transit of civilian firearms, in particular to simplify the legal framework for legal traders. The consultation is open until 11 October. The Commission wants to improve the rules on traceability and information exchange, and to strengthen the security of export and import control procedures.
