Sanctioned for climate inaction, French government ordered to act within nine months by country’s Council of State

01/07/2021 (Agence Europe) – In a decision handed down on 1 July, the French Council of State ordered the country’s government to take, by 31 March 2022, “all appropriate measures to curb the curve of greenhouse gas emissions produced on national territory” in order to achieve the national objective of reducing emissions by 40% by 2030.
