MEPs want tougher cybersecurity legislation by 2023

10/06/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 10 June, MEPs adopted a resolution (670 votes in favour, 4 against and 12 abstentions) calling for stricter security standards for connected objects, applications and operating systems in order to combat cyber-attacks (see EUROPE B12737A6). The text calls for EU rules to be put in place – including a set of cybersecurity requirements – by 2023.
