On Monday 12 April, the European Commission published an implementing regulation imposing provisional customs duties on imports of aluminium flat-rolled products from China.
The new tariffs, which range from 19.3% to 46.7%, come into effect immediately.
The European Commission accuses China of maintaining overcapacity in the steel and aluminium sectors, which causes unfair competition for European producers.
