11/12/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Council agreed on Thursday 10 December to extend the economic sanctions against Russia for six months until 31 July 2021. This political decision has yet to be agreed by the EU Council, which will be a mere formality. These measures, adopted in 2014 in retaliation for the conflict in eastern Ukraine, have been renewed every six months. The measures include the finance, energy and defence sectors, and dual-use goods. (CG)
