The European Parliament approved on Thursday 26 November a particularly controversial report on the situation of fundamental rights in the EU in 2018 and 2019.
As was to be expected in view of the high level of tension (see EUROPE B12608A6), the text was approved by only a narrow majority (330 votes in favour, 298 against and 65 abstentions). Clare Daly (GUE/NGL, Ireland), the rapporteur on this subject, herself opposed the adoption of the report.
